There's many more to come...stay tuned.
I am now beginning my second year serving the Lord as a full-time missionary with Youth With A Mission in Lausanne, Switzerland. I feel the theme for 2013 is "Run The Race" like it states in Hebrews 12:1 "Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us," Thank you for following me on each GOD-adventure!

day 3
It’s now day 3 of DTS and we’re still doing orientation but I am already feeling challenged by God! We had a lot of free time over the past couple of days which was a blessing since I was still getting use to the time change. This morning was the first morning I felt completely rested.
Today I was able to walk through the forest nearby that has biking and walking trails! It’s so amazingly beautiful and serene here at Lausanne! I’m so glad that God would smile upon me and give me the privilege to study in such a gorgeous place.
The landscape is not the only thing that’s beautiful! I’ve met some wonderful and loving hearts from all over the world. There are 50 students in my school and 43 of them are from Korea. There are a few Koreans that are from other countries like Brazil and Australia. The other non-Koreans are from Finland, US and Switzerland. There are also two other schools that are in session right now. There’s a Bible Core Course which is an in depth study of the Bible and they actually go to Israel, Greece, Rome and a couple other countries. The other school is Foundations in Early Childhood Education. We have a chance to fellowship with them and I’ve already made some lifelong friends. I even got an invitation to stay with my Swiss friend, Dina, after the school session.
After tonight I may not have as much time to update the blog since we have already received our journaling and Bible reading assignments. We are also required to read 3 books and complete reports for each one. Starting next week we will be doing weekly outreaches in Lausanne. I’m really excited to challenge myself to be bold to share God’s love to those in the local area!
Now, ready for bed as my family and friends in Hawaii are just starting their day!
Jalja (good night)!

finally made it to Lausanne, Switzerland
After 16 hours of travel I finally made it to the YWAM Lausanne base! My train ride was breathtaking as we rode along Lake Geneva with the majestic Swiss Alps above! I took photos which I'll post later but it doesn't do it any justice! There are 3 diffrent schools right now (DTS, FIE, BCC) and the campus is packed. My DTS program has over 50 students which majority is from Korea. I've already met some pretty cool people from all over Europe, Brazil, South Africa and a few from the US. Tomorrow is our registration day with some other getting-to-know-you activites! yay!
Here's a chapter in Psalm that God gave the DTS Staff for me that I wanna share with you...
Psalm 113
Praise the Lord! Praise, O servants of the Lord, Praise the name of the Lord!
Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and forver.
From the rising of the sun to its setting the name of the Lord is to be praised!
The Lord is high above all nations; His glory is above the heavens.
Who is like the Lord our God, who is enthroned on high, Who humbles Himself to behold the things that are in heaven and in the earth?
He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap
To make them sit with princes, with the princes of His people.
He makes the barren woman abide in the house As a joyful mother of children
Praise the Lord!

a journal entry...
A Journal Entry…
As I was packing to leave Hawaii for school I found an old devotional journal from a couple years ago. I opened it up and found this journal entry that I would like to share with you…
SCRIPTURE:
Acts 4:13 “When they saw the courage of Peter & John and realized they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and took note that these men had been with Jesus.”
OBSERVATION:
After being with Jesus, these men knew the truth and it was the truth that gave them courage to speak of Jesus Christ. Their lives radiated the presence of Jesus Christ even to those who don’t believe. Jesus’ presence uses you beyond your abilities.
APPLICATION:
I am an ordinary woman and sometimes I feel unschooled or not as smart as those around me BUT that does not determine how much I can do for Jesus Christ. It is determined by how much time I spend with HIM. His presence and my life changed will give courage to show Jesus Christ. People will see and take note that I have been with Jesus. Just like the testimonies I heard today.
GOD’S PRESENCE + LIFE CHANGED = COURAGE TO WITNESS FOR JESUS. A simple equation for ordinary men and women to do EXTRAordinary things!
PRAYER:
Lord, may your presence change my life so that all will know I’ve been with Jesus. Thanks for using me beyond my own abilities. I love you, Rhoda =)
